Baron Leopold von Stargfelsen has announced to the public that the Barony of Stargfelsen (including the city of the same name) will no longer accept to be part of the Kingdom of Saderia. His countenance is reported to have been "grim" - his wife, Baroness Hannah, appears to have been killed in uncertain circumstances.
In a press conference in Calidor, Senator Anwen Daniels from the Cassian Republic has announced that the Republic, which shares a border with the Barony, will help ensure a climate of peaceful negotiation between the Kaiser and the Baron. The reason, he said, is that the Republic does not wish for open conflict so close to their borders, and through constant trade relations with Stargfelsen, they have grown to become "close neighbors", and do not wish for the innocent civilians living there to face any kind of retaliatory violence.
Expedition Leader Geitir Sverdinnse, speaking on behalf of the Unified Dwarven Federation, took up the podium to also send a message the Baron and the Kaiser: the Dwarves also wish for this situation to be resolved peacefully, and in particular the dwarves of Sverdinnse are ready to work with their Stargfelsen neighbors, to provide any assistance they might need in this delicate period.
Kaiser Gustav Hirschwald has not made any official statement yet, but unofficial channels seem to indicate that he considers this to be "the highest form of treason". The quick and decisive show of intentions by the Cassian Republic and Dvergerjord, however, will likely stave off any immediate retaliation. Calidor's Council has made no statements.

A large, well filigreed parchment is tacked up on all the doors of the Cathedral, as well as around several notably Saderian establishments around the city, including the Sink Hole:
In memoriam: Baroness Hannah von Stargfelsen (previously Hannah von Einstadt)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Baroness Hannah von Stargfelsen, of the Barony of Stargfelsen. Devoted wife to Baron Leopold, loving mother of Baron Wolfgang, cherished by her people, she will be sorely missed.
Prior to her matrimony to Baron Leopold, Lady Hannah von Einstadt was renowned throughout Saderia not only for her great beauty but for her bountiful charity, and it was this very generosity that attracted the Baron to her. The story of their courtship is well known throughout Saderia, as Baroness Hannah famously sold off an exquisite jeweled necklace gifted to her by the Baron, gifting the money to the people in the form of new tools and plows for the villages of the Barony, one new plow and two oxen to pull it for every jewel on the necklace.
The Baroness was brutally murdered enroute to the City of Calidor, having been sent here with her son for their protection while political tensions escalated in the Barony. She is survived by her son, Baron Wolfgang, who was uninjured in the attack.
Her wake will be held tomorrow evening for all those faithful to the Three and the One, and the Holy Templar Order has agreed to stand in attendance to the Baroness and assist in her last rites. All are welcome to attend.
[[This event will happen tomorrow, MONDAY 12/5/16, from 7PM EST onward. All Templar PCs that can make it should attend, and any Privateers available are also specifically invited.]]

Rumors have been going around in the Sinkhole that someone's been looking for a crew to handle a job, all strictly hush-hush.
((Will hopefully hold a related event for Crowders tomorrow, Sunday 11th, around 9PM GMT))
