Name: Tomar Datten
Race: Human
Age: 21
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 165lbs.
Appearance:
Tomar is tall and lanky. His clothing is serviceable and well-cared for but far from new. There’s no doubt that he could fit right in at a gambling den or in the thick of things.
Background:
Tomar’s family belonged to the middling class of merchants in Calidor. A series of poor choices, made both by Tomar’s father and himself, rendered his family destitute and kicked out of the home that Tomar had long known. They took to living in Begger’s Cross, where his father drank himself to oblivion and his mother whored herself out.
Spending the next several years as an orphan, Tomar took whatever odd job presented itself to stay out of trouble and in a bed. That didn’t always work out for him, but he survived.
Saving up what he could, Tomar has been making plans to return to the world above and retake his place alongside the merchant families that ignored his family as it fell.
Personality Profile:
Tomar’s upbringing has jaded him some. While he can drop into dark moods, he does his best to keep up appearances, knowing that people only take things at face value. Much of his time in Begger’s Cross was spent hunting and scavenging, so he doesn’t toss things away as long as they have a useful value to him. He’s not terribly sentimental, since he doesn’t have much time for the past. He does see the huge inequality between the haves and have nots and would like to be able to repair the unbalance but doesn’t know how just yet. He’s also seen and done things that would make others queasy. He doesn’t like seeing children or the infirm taken advantage of.
Goals:
• Return to his former life of prosperity.
• He harbors unconscious hatred for the families that he considered friends during his family’s dark time, and would gladly take advantage of any weaknesses to knock them down a peg.
Misc./Fun Facts:
• Tomar has a minor gambling problem, which has set him back in the past.
• He actually enjoys hunting. There’s something to the thrill of the chase and kill that makes him happy.
