As is known, I have recently maxed out my Mercantilism.
My chosen Talent is Appraisal (V), which permits a max sale value of $260 per item.
I have noticed, however, than when running through Wyler, which produces rank 40-50 loot, nothing of value from chests sells for less than the max of $260. This is often the case with lower level areas as well, as I have found that most rank 20 guns sells for max value as well.
While certainly fortuitous to me, this brings up a significant point that I have no markdown reduction from abilities, as is granted by Trusted Seller. The implications, as I see it, is that someone with Trusted Seller (V) will run areas less than halfway through the progression and stop receiving any benefit from their chosen ability-tree: i.e. it starts acting exactly the same as Appraisal, but netting 30% less cash for the privileged. If an item is already selling for max-value, improving the actual value of each good still gets capped at the max value of 200, meaning that past rank 30 or 40 goods, Trusted seller is strictly inferior to Appraisal.
I would like to suggest that instead it could modify purchases instead, which would be a functionality that would see benefit even at higher levels. I'm not really sure how to balance that though, given that the entire tree does exactly that.
