So after a few weeks of experiencing this... I'm still getting single digit shifts for successful trap-finding and at times placable finding in Sedis. The most xp I think I've gotten was 30 for finding a node with bonus xp on a 1.5 multiplier. In contrast in the dwarven ruins I'm seeing the skill click up by 60ish or so.
I've had the thought that maybe my issue is simply that i'm focused in the search rather than spot trains, there typically being far more reliable returns for damaging stealthed creatures than finding traps/nodes. Perhaps the search trees of detect should be looked at again? Not only do they fail to have any practical application (trap effects dont seem to have saves? what does it matter if I see a hidden object from further away?), but the xp return on feat investment is in the realm of the spot line as it increases your general chance of getting opportunities to gain xp into the skill. Maybe a 20-25% xp boost to the returns for finding hidden objects would be ideal?
To highlight the descrepency, When I started in the Labyrinth most of my combat skills were at the 75 mark, and my detect was at 70 with full search investment. Now I'm beyond being able to level any combat skill in the labyrinth but my detect still has not hit 75. I managed to gain orders of magnitudes of more xp on skills that are crimped and crippled in gains by my underleveled gear and skills I have no investment into; compared to a well invested and perpetually used skill.
I can't speak to how well the changes made thus far have addressed the issue for progressions below 70, but I'm finding myself unable to loot dungeons I defeat of on-level content because I cannot make the search checks for placables in them even with alchemical and mod boosts to my search score.

Doing another round on Sedis next update, I noticed its overall XP profile seems to be a lot lower than areas in similar ranges so I've taken that up as well.
