So I was going through the 2da looking at the stats on the higher tier Animal Companions and I noticed a few who seemed to be just worst then the others.
First and most minor offender is the Smilodon. It's exactly the same as the Lion but with -1 Damage Scaling and -1 Dodge. Not a huge difference, but still strictly worst.
The real big outliers however are the two Dinosaurs. The Velocirator's stats are pretty much the same as the lower tier Adder but without the poison that makes the Adder useful. (Raptor has +1 max damage, +1 damage scaling, -3 armor, - 3 armor scaling, +1 dodge, -5 stealth and +10 HP over the Adder). If you compare it to another tier IV pet, the Wolf, it's weakness is pretty obvious. The Raptor requires 10 more ranks and 5 more Stamina. It has +5 HP over the wolf. Meanwhile, the wolf has +2-6 damage, +2 damage scaling, +2 armor, +2 armor scaling, +1 dodge, +4 Stealth. The Raptor is significantly weaker in almost every way.
The Lynthronax is in a similar if less straightforward situation. It's closest comparison would be the Polar Bear, which again requires 10 fewer ranks and 5 less stamina. The Lynthronax has +1 damage scaling over the polar bear. Meanwhile, the Polar Bear has +2 max damage, +1 armor, +1 armor scaling, +4 block, +8 block scaling. But on top of this, the Lynthronax has -1 AB over all other pets. Now I like the idea that the Lynthronax is this rather clumbsy thing that relies more on brute strength then precision, so -1 AB is nice there, but it should be compensated for it.

I also noticed that pets have some very weird Parry values and scaling, in that they scale slower then weapons/armor, meaning that their parry loses a lot of value at higher levels.

I'm pretty busy on other stuff but these all seem like fair points. Consider suggesting a set of changes to address them?

Smilodon : Increase armor to 17 and armor scaling to 17. Gives it a little more armor then the other cats to compensate for lower dodge and lower damage.
Raptor : Turn into a slightly less agile but more heavily armored wolf? So increase damage to say, 8-24 (Damage scaling up to +8), Armor up to 20 (Armor scaling up to 20) and base stealth up to 5. This would make it have -1 min damage, -1 damage scaling, -1 dodge, +4 armor + 4 armor scaling +5 HP compared to the wolf (Which costs 5 less Stamina and 10 less ranks).
Lynthorax : Damage up to 11-26, armor up to 30, armor scaling up to 30. More armor then a bear, but can't block to compensate (Stay at 0 block unlike other pets). +3 damage over a polar bear, but -1 AB.
Normalize block - Everything has 3 + 1/10 block, which puts them on par with the absolute worst block a PC can have (Adamantine full plate and no block bonuses). Bears have 6 + 1/10, which puts them in line with a PC wearing partial plate and nothing else. Tier V snakes which seem to be supposed to be block-focused have 8 + 1/10 which puts them the equivalent of a shield-using PC in heavy armor.

Let me know if these don't fit the roles that where planned for them, I can work on alternate stats if these don't work. Not sure if I might have overestimated the -1 AB on Lynthorax.
