This forum exists because while we would all love to always keep everything IC and ingame, sometimes people's RL schedules and such are not conducive to allowing that to reliably happen.
As such, sometimes some PCs may want to hold In-Character discussions that involve multiple PCs and are, rather than, say, emotive or written postings on a message board, actual conversations and discussions that happen not unlike they do in-game, however in this case the parties are simply posting as their character. Consider it an Active RP sub-forum to bridge the gap of timezones and being un able to get ingame.
The Rules:
1- Just like ingame, you can only RP for your own character, no one else's.
2- Preface each of your posts with your character's name, not unlike a Play by Post styled PnP game.
3- Develop a clear method of differentiating what is actually spoken vs emoted. This can be as simple as putting quotation marks ("like this") around things your character is actually saying to other characters at the meeting. This is to prevent miscommunication.
4- The Discussion MUST be labeled either PUBLIC or PRIVATE using the forum labeling system.
5- Whoever initiates a PRIVATE discussion is responsible for, in the first post of the thread, maintaining an updated list as to which characters are involved in the discussion.
6- If your PC is not involved in a PRIVATE discussion, they cannot post or act on any information discussed ICly there. You need to be invited to the discussion by the creator and added to the roster.
7- Truly sensitive information may be better served to be discussed privately via PMs between multiple players. If you instead choose to go this route, you must include at least one DM in the discussion for it to be considered IC. This is solely for DMs to arbitrate in case there are disagreements over what was said and what is or is not IC, nothing further. This isn't a format for requesting DM involvement or running a pocket DM event on the forum.
Hopefully people can abide by these relatively straightforward rules, and this will help grow the RP on the server! Game on!
