The Reaping
The Reaptime is a time honored tradition in Calidor, nay, all of Gineas. It is the traditional name for the last week and a half of the summer harvests, when all the grain and foodstuffs were gathered and brought in to be stored for the winter, and culminates with the Reaping Festival, now more commonly referred to as The Reaping. During the Reaptime, people all over Calidor dress up in festive and colorful clothing for the entirety of the lead up to The Reaping, which is an enormous street festival all across the city. Traditionally, masks and costumes were only worn on the night of The Reaping Festival, when all the scarecrows from the summer, now unneeded, would be paraded down the streets from all corners of the land and piled into a large pile used to start a great bonfire. This was the official start of The Reaping Festival, where food and drink are shared by all, children set off tricks and play games, and people dance and are merry late into the night. In modern times, many have expanded the celebration, hosting Reaptime Parties throughout the final week and even wearing masks for the duration of the Reaptime. This year's Reaptime will run until November 11th.
Seasonal Items
Get in to the reaptime spirit! Hit up the Pumpkin Patch in the Trade Quarter for all of your pumpkins and pumpkin accessories. Many of these items are only good during the reaptime, so make sure to your fill now before they all disappear at the end of the season. This year we've got three items in stock:
Jack-o-Lanterns: Nothing says "begone, evil spirits!" like a Jack-o-Lantern. Place these anywhere you want and when you're done you can smash them up or move them elsewhere. These items work just like regular furniture items, but from now until the end of the reaptime they're destructible and you can put them wherever you want. After the reaptime is over you can keep them in your apartments, but you can't place them in other areas. During the reaptime anyone RPing near a Jack-o-Lantern earns 20% more bonus XP.
Pumpkin Helmets: Not the best form of skull protection by any means, but who cares? Hit up dungeons wearing a pumpkin helmet and you'll get 20% more skill XP. Just be sure to account for the fact that wearing a pumpkin on your head isn't exactly the most tactically sound decision in the world. These items disappear at the end of the seasonal event.
Pumpkin Bombs: This reaping season why not destroy your enemies in style? For a limited time you can replace your regular grenades with pumpkin bombs that totally explode after you throw them. New and improved ballistics capabilities allow these to be launched from grenade launchers! These items also disappear at the end of the seasonal event.
Pumpkin Spice Latte: Interested in getting shot and having your corpse dumped in the sewer system? Just try ordering one of these at your local coffee shop!
Seasonal Dungeon Content
Visit the haunted hayride located in the East gate area of Calidor. You can find tickets as part of dungeon loot and redeem them to experience spooky Reaptime hayride thrills. It is recommended to gather tickets as a group and go with a party instead of solo.
