I feel like the small bars next to ones character portrait are not sufficient anymore for relaying readily readable information for players on the fly in the heat of combat. Would it be possible to get some larger UI representation of these values? Preferably something that can be moved around to where players like that sort of info on their UI. Maybe even with the option to toggle the numerical values, current/effective total/true totals. Current being whatever said value is currently at, effective total being your max of that value with factoring for current buffs/debuffs (channeled spells, armor stamina costs, temporary hit points, buff potions, etc) and true total being what your total should be assuming you had no penalties or buffs.
The most important to represent would probably be current/effective numbers though.

I've seen some other custom UI where the controlled character icon is bigger than party members. Would that help?

As a bandaid, yes, any increased visibility would help.
But as it stands, engines relies on a large number of different resources being juggled at the same time to adequately perform in combat, making them large, central, and more informative would do wonders for giving information to the player. Making a larger health/tox/stam/ins bar also could include room to show things like buff timers. Which can benefit novice and more casual players who aren't necessarily training themselves to cylce things on 30-second timers. Which given the inclusion of the temp HP bar I would assume you're not necessarily against~
Edit; the buff times thing I wouldn't think is imperative; but it's another thought I was having that would fall under the category of useful information to relay to a player regarding combat info.

Any examples I mind? Would be a pretty big undertaking and I'd want to ask around for some opinions first.
