I've run across an issue with some ammo having two separate but nearly identical forms, though only one type is usable. I had this problem with pistol ammo and the rifle ammo. Unfortunately I sold off the pistol stuff so I didn't get screenshots, but here's the rifle ammo: "Rifle Bullet" (notice no S). I'm not sure where this comes from (possibly loot drops?), but it doesn't seem to work with the carbine magazines (I get told I don't have the right ammo). I can equip it in my arrows slot as if it were old school unmodified arrows. "Rifle Bullets" (S present). I can buy these off vendors. They work with carbine magazines and cannot be equipped in the arrow slot. These seem to be working as intended. *EDIT* I also just realized - one has weight and the other doesn't. When I start equipping/unequipping different guns, some of the zero-weight ammo disappears from my inventory. While I was testing, I put the zero weight bullets in the arrow slot but could not remove them. Equipping a shotgun made them disappear.

Not a bug. The "bullet" item is what actually gets fired from the gun. The "bullets" item is what you use to load weapons. If you have "bullet" in your inventory that's not intended. There's some protections against unequipping but if they end up there just equip them along with a gun and the problem goes away.

Makes sense! After swapping some weapons around and reloading some clips, eventually all the goofy bullet items disappeared. I'm not sure how they circumvented the protections to begin with but I'll post if I am able to duplicate it again. Thanks!

The bullets dropped by mobs are of the weightless, unusable kind. You likely got them in your inventory by looting said mobs for their spare ammo. They can also fire for days without reloading, which if you DO manage to load these into your weapon, you'll do the same. Fun times follow.

This is obviously not intended (unless you're wearing a certain bandana), so if anyone can reliably reproduce it, we'd like to know.

Tested it out with some ammo I got in the trash. If you run out of normal bullets in your gun, you auto-load the stack of weightless ammo and start shooting it. AKA: My six shot revolver ended up having 40 shots loaded.
Unequipping and equipping the gun didn't change anything. However manually unequipping the ammo turned it back into normal weighted shot.

Got a few things to do to fix this, I'll put them in tonight.
