The crafting system here is nicely robust, and quite well considered, but I would like to suggest an improvement for potential consideration.
Most developments and improvements are usually developed by one or two individuals, and shared through the communication, trade, and sabotage of society. See how Patents work. As such, it would be nifty to see the ability to 'reverse-engineer' items for crafting experience, though likely at the cost of irreversibly destroying the item. My suggestion would be that experience or technique would only be improved if the item rank is higher than the craftsman's, or if the item has an augmentation or upgrade that is not currently known by the craftsman.
Comments, consideration, critique: Cheers, Kit

I like this idea, it seems legitimate that gunsmiths could break down guns for spare parts, or blacksmiths could melt down old weapons and make new ones, etc. I'd like to the see some sort of gathering maybe tied to each crafting skill, but I think it was already addressed, something about money is the main source of crafting reagents, and is intended to be, so this idea might clash a little with that.

If/when I get item recipes in this will for sure be a thing. Until then I've been strongly considering adding a mechanism like this just so that crafters have a way to get free components and a bit of XP.
