More a curiosity question, it will not necessarily have any bearing on what we do from the development side. I recently noticed a couple players discussing how they really just wanted to have a cat or other useless (for combat) pet and were training up their Animal Handling skill just to get something similar because they wanted the RP benefit. It would be easy enough to add them in, just curious to see what people's take is.

I wouldn't mind cosmetic critters.

Makes tanking more involving, gives me more to do. Adds flavor to rp too.

I'd honestly love to see pets around that only have rp value. I think it'd be fun!

Vin has an eyepatch. Now all he needs is a parrot resting on his shoulder. I jest, but yes. Random non-combat pets would be great.

RP Pets would be really fantastic. I originally wanted to level up animal training just to have a pet around for RP, but really didn't because it too so much investment, and didn't fit mechanically. I'd recommend cats, parrots (other birds) ferrets, maybe even small snakes.

If its possible a few stray cats or dogs would add some interesting scenes in Calidor.

If its possible a few stray cats or dogs would add some interesting scenes in Calidor. This would be simple enough to add with the Ambient NPC system, however I'm unsure of whether or not they'd then be able to have the scripts necessary to be tamed with Animal Handling. PE would have to weigh in on that, but it'd be a cool idea since Calidor almost assuredly has a pest/stray animal issue.

There are no stray animals in Calidor. The elves eat them.

Utility pets, such as a load-carrying, item dispensing one, might make for an interesting addition - pets that have benefits, that aren't strictly get hit, hit.
