I have another skill related question. This one is simply whether or not it matters for my marksmanship skill if I use a one handed firearm or a two handed firearm. At first, I figured all ranged weapons fell into the the one/two handed categories just like melee weapons, then I noticed marksmanship was a skill all on its own. So as I'm a two handed fighter, does it matter if I use a pistol or a rifle? I would think using a rifle or carbine would be slightly better with prior skills in the Two Handed category, but I'm not sure.

The One/Two handed and Dual Wield skills have no bearing on ranged weapons. All guns and crossbows use the Marksmanship skill to determine damage and whatnot, so you need to start training it if you ever want to use guns.
The only exception to this is that Shotguns double as melee weapons, so they will raise your one handed or dual wield skill. Firing them still relies on Marksmanship, though.

You would think so but maybe that isn't the case? I wish I had know that sooner. I would have used the tutorial pistol, but I didn't because I wanted to focus on two handed fighting. Ah well. Now I know for after the beta.
PS: Carbines still rock, though~

So I dont have to have duel wield to fire two pistols? Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the system, you can only wield one ranged weapon at a time, so only a single pistol can be held. Melee weapons can still be dual-wielded, allowing for double shotgun or (as Fuzz likes to point out) Bloodborne builds with shotgun and saber.
