Move along the man had said, not bloody likely. Only one way to get paid and that was to stick your nose where it didn't belong. Provided no one paid you to look the other way. He knelt by the body and took some quick notes and made a cursory examination of the body for any sort of identifying wounds or markings before pushing up from the ground and dusting himself off, after which he moved along. Another shell claimed by the meat grinder, I wonder what his story was.

The grime of the city has started to seep into my pores. Been so long since I've roamed under the open sky with nothing but my rifle for company I can feel the memories of Mangevenn becoming fuzzy. But that's alright, I'm here now and here's where I plan on hanging my hat for a spell longer. The Chesters are a varied bunch of blokes on a good day, but for now they seem to be about right for my view of the world and added bonus, green has always been my color.

That Squire lad sure and his traveling smith sure has some funny notions. Damnably tough in a fight, but a bit quick to the draw when it comes to throwing round words like ghost and witchcraft. Can't say I know much about that sort of hocus pocus, but I do know following them around might end with money. Sides everyone is a nutter in some way or other, best bet is to keep the nutters where you can see them so they can't sneak up on you. Though if it came to that, Isabella would be happy to greet would be sneaks.

That clawed beastie can either hide better than anything I've encountered so far, or it moves quicker than a snakebite. Searched damn near every inch of the sewers and canals we could but turned up zilch. Mite aggravating on the purse strings but I think I'm better acquainted with the nook and crannies of the city now. Besides which, that squire and his smith might just come a looking for me should they ever need more tracking done. Make a name now, get paid later that's just good business.

Bugger me if I know what this shite be but folks seem to think it be important. Sketched this weird circle while everyone yapped about witches this and ghosts that. More talk of hocus pocus and a lot of standing around seemed to be the only item on the agenda. Seems the church folk are sold on this being some dark power and most of the science blokes be laughing up their sleeves at such a notion. Nay sure where I stand, but sure as shite know I ain't likely to get paid for this sketch.

Job was easy enough in it's description and the lass was fine enough in the asking. Go here, get a box, come back. But jobs ain't never as easy as they appear. Not sure what Ji was thinking, or maybe he wasn't but that plan was nigh on smart proof and destined to fail. But I suppose we had to try something. I still wonder on that crest of the ring I found. . . wonder where it leads.
