Hello everyone playing a cop or interested in playing one.
It's been a busy and fun couple of weeks, and I've been thinking of ways to improve my DMing on the police faction. I'd like to put forward a few ideas, and see how they work, also a few clarifications.
Generally speaking, the CCPD (Calidor City Police Department) is overloaded thanks to the many recent disturbances, and if you cross paths with the police and show interest in helping you're likely to get deputized on the spot and given an assignment (this is to some extent exploitable by other factions). A deputy is pretty much someone working freelance for the police. If they show to be capable (and they pass a background check), they'll get turned into regular officers quickly. This distinction is mostly a question of dedication to the faction, not gating off rp/content.
My idea is that you pair up with other deputies/officers you play with regularly, and adopt one or more "cases". A "case" can be an assignment you were given by an NPC higher officer, a publicly known police case currently open, something you see happening which warrants more investigation, or even independent action such as "let's hit up some shops for protection money" (being a bad cop is a perfectly valid approach), "let's shut down a drug smuggling operation", "let's track and capture a wanted criminal with a bounty on him" (most cases will bring followup consequences and might connect to bigger plots), etc.
So, you take on a case, and when you have an action you want to take on it, you let me know and we execute it. Feel free to come up with your own hooks and suggest your own cases, Calidor is a really big city and you have as big a role in making it come alive as we do.
And have fun!
