Would it be possible to get the offensive bonuses that weapons get for particular materials put on gauntlets for unarmed fighters?

Given that gauntlets have a merged armor and a weapon profile, and a dedicated skill tree, this seems reasonable to me.

Seems reasonable.

Not a bad idea, but it's complicated by the fact that not all weapon enhancements can be applied to unarmed attacks. Basically anything that adds critical damage wouldn't work, so that means rebalancing all of the materials around that. Final product might be quite a bit less interesting than what you get on weapons but at least they'll be different.

Well could keep with the theme of unarmed in general and just give them flat damage bonuses instead of crits.
We can still get improved critical rates on unarmed strikes though can't we? Could that be a thing?

I am supposing it has already been considered but would leveraging the creature weapon slot provide more compatibility with things like crit and enhancements, or is that just a can-of-worms we don't want to approach?

Hard to justify that much work right now. Also unclear if it would even work properly on PCs.
