Hi, new player just joined your server, kudos first for the setting, look and feel of the place. After fighting through monster areas, and collecting loot, I went trundling off to the various merchants to dispose of items found. As everything is now capped off at twelve Bucks I am finding it difficult to see the risk reward benifits from fighting harder and harder enemies for the same reward. Why is the loot not tiered in value according to its intrinsic value, after all a rusty iron sword and a keened damascus steel sword do essentially the same thing but I would imagine if you went to buy such the price would be reflected in the quality. It is far more immersive IMO if the same is reciprocated in the sale of items to the merchants, after all the risk taken in getting the loot is greater, the harder enemies fought, the greater chance in dying and losing everything (which has happened). What if items were capped in value at various levels, eg. 1-10 10Bucks, 11-20 20Bucks. As players lvl achievements grow, the rewards should reflect their continuing development. I cant see many "epic" lvl chars being particularly enamored selling sword(80) for 12Bucks!

As I understand it, the merchants in the Free Market are the 'Tier One' merchants, offering the lowest ranks of gear (rank 20 and below, from the look of it), and offering the lowest buy prices. AFAIK, the higher tier merchants have not yet been implemented, since players are only recently getting to the >20 ranks. I'm sure one of the staff can correct me if I'm grievously incorrect. When you look at it, the Free Market is in essence a tiny Flea-Market. Basically the guys selling wares on the street literally would not have the money for a higher quality weapon, but have no qualms buying it from you to resale for more if you are that desperate for a quick buck. I presume the better places will have actual stores, because they can afford it. [Edit] As an addendum, much of the conversation on item prices is going on here. Might want to keep the related conversation on the same page, so we can all follow along easier.
