It seems as though sand worms aren't the only monsters that got a lot tougher when the fix for silver-vulnerability damage went in. After trousing around trolls all morning, I've found that they are much like miniature sandworms now. the silver seems to have no appreciable effect against them anymore. Where as it use to be that essentially it let you do almost normal damage, I'm now having trolls shrug off 100+ point hits with silvered weapons, even though their DR read out only shows them absorbing 20-30. It may be that every large monster that previously had silver vulnerability might need looked at and have their values tweaked. I will note that wyverns seem an exception to this, but they were relatively easy encounters priorly.

What do you mean by "shrug off"? Is it that they don't die, that the health bar doesn't move very much, or that it doesn't move at all? Does the performance seem worse or better with weapons that don't have silver?

The performance seems to be roughly equal. I'm looking at the troll's heath bar, and hit it for triple digits... using titanium, adamantium, or silver.. and the health bar barely seems to drop. Using elemental damage keeps the regen down like its suppose to, but it feels as though these huge heavy hits are disappearing into the ether while the trolls HP barely nudges downward. Unless these things have enough HP that I should be able to do 500+ damage in a fight and have it still be alive while its regen is surpressed? I would sort of expect that with chimeric cave trolls, but this was happening with chimeric forest trolls and cave trolls. Even normal forest trolls seemed significantly resilient.

How hard are they to fight in their current state? They have a lot of HP but that's mostly because they have both low dodge and low armor. The bonus damage from silver is in the 20% range so I wouldn't expect it to be noticeable by examining health bars.

Considering I'm over-level I'd say the normal Cave and Forest Trolls are about right. the Chimeric can be another story for both types. It takes more than a turn to take one down and they hit very hard. Maybe if you toned the HP down by about that 20% on each one it'd be a little more on par, but as it is I'd give it to the Troll 2 out of 3 fights if I was 1v1ing a chimeric.
