Nearly all marksman abilities are tied to firearms and reloading/emptying clips. While there are a couple abilities that work for thrown weapons, you must spend multiple points on useless skills. Is there a list of what works for not-guns and might there be plans to make throwing weapons more viable?

Most Marksmanship abilities work with thrown weapons. Hail of Bullets is one I can confirm works (try it with elemental shurikens sometime!)
Anything related with reloading probably won't work, though e.g. Gunslinger+Quick on the Draw.

I think his point was that if you're a Throwing Weapon person, you have to waste Talents on gun reloading stuff that serves no purpose on Throwing Weapons. Probably should add some benefit for some of them to throwing weapon types, or add a throwing specific branch to one of the lines...

Straight Shooter works (But it not very useful on Shirukens).
Steady Aim works partially, and the part that does work (crit) is not s useful on as on guns because thrown weapons don't have the crit mods a gun does. Gets less useful as the weapons's RPM lowers, but that's true on gun too. (Though it's not as "bad" even on SMGs then it is on Shirukens)
Gunsligner mostly doesn't work.
Hail of Bullets works.
Crippling Shot works.
So really it's more a combination of the fact that some of them don't work and that a lot of them, especially the most useful ones, don't work as well as on guns, and get worst on high RPM thrown weapons. Shirukens for example only really have Hail of Bullets and Crippling Shot that are possibly worth taking. That said, Shirukens also have the advantage that they are still great even with 0 feats, which isn't something you can say about a lot of weapons.
