So I have been asked to give feedback for the trainers as a new player and new char sooo here I go.
I'm playing here since.. 3 days(?) now and so far the trainers have been completely useless. Not sure if by design or bug, but let me explain:
- It took me a while to even realise what the trainers are and frankly without having asked a couple of times on discord I wouldn't have figured it out, due to the fact that the henchman don't offer their trainer service the first time around when you talk to them. As someone who isn't interested in grinding, and even less so in solo grinding I never hired one of them and thus never knew they are trainers.
- They main problem being that I could never use them effectively. I was able to use the "First Aid" trainer once for one level (or maybe even less) then I got the message that "You have reached your training Limit, you can train again after some time". Since now 2 days and countless dungeon runs I'm still not able to train again.

Per my understanding of the explanation PE gave on Discord: You gain "Training Capacity" at a certain rate per unit-time. To use it, the Capacity needs to be higher than a set value. Each trainer has a dynamic amount of XP you can train at them depending on factors such relative rank of the skill.
I think these are in place to limit the ability for a fresh character to spam RP in a short time, get a windfall of cash, and train themselves to rank 50 in their relevant skills without having a matching amount of time-in-existence.
My own experiments allowed me to gain 2 ranks in One-handed (from 13-15) and one rank in Light Armor (from 22-23) before I ran into my training limit.

Well .. that still leads me back to the statement that they are useless in their current state cause they literally did nothing for me so far and if I understand it correctly, they should be a small help to speed up leveling - which they dont cause they arent useable

I'm not sure it is there to "speed up leveling", as much as to provide a means for people who log in and RP to have some means of progression over longer periods of time as an alternative to dungeons. If you want a bunch of skill-ranks in a practical timeframe, a dungeon is intended to be the best source.
Kinda depends what the intent of trainers are. I know YMD outlined a completely different intent than PE, when each spoke about the system on Discord.
YMD outlined a system where you can trade BXP and money for SXP with no limit - effectively allowing someone to RP for a bit and then 'catch-up' on lots of skill-ranks and reach high ranks in a couple months, whereas PE outlined what I posted above which seems to focus on giving RPers a trickle over many days or weeks.
For comparison, from what I recall of ranking my primary skills getting a rank a week above rank 25 seems to me to be a respectable rate for not grinding*, so seeing a similar limitation on Trainers seems reasonable from my perspective. That said, it is hardly the only stance available, and might be more conservative than we need be. As a disclaimer, my primary skills at the time were (and basically still are) crafting and mercantile, which does not follow the standard rate of progression for combat skills.
*: My method of "Not Grinding" was primarily sitting around town, talking with and transacting for people who were grinding, and performing various crafting during the couple hours I had available on evenings I was home (3-5 times a week). this was also interspersed by probably an average of one to two dungeons a week with a group who would RP their way through rather than blitz.

So it's been over 2 weeks now and I still cant use the trainers cause of said Limit.
Still saying its working as intended? Im almost hitting skill level 25 with my main skills and the trainers did NOTHING AT ALL to help in any way.

I have managed to use a low-level trainer for 3 ranks a couple days ago, after having exhausted my training allotment just prior to my earlier post.
It should be a lot faster to rank low level skills in a dungeon, particularly your main skills which consume a lot more BXP and presumably training-capacity.
Lacking any official statement of intent from the staff as to which perspective to use, I am inclined to say that it is indeed working as intended. Lacking any information on your current dungeon habits, or more specific details on your initial expenditure, I can only observe that you are progressing rather slowly and relying on the possibility of trainers as a crutch rather than a supplemental source of skills. One or two dungeons a week with friends aught to be able to net rank 25 in short order, while I expect Trainers will only grant you about 1500-ish sXP a week, based on my observations.
It may well be that improved visibility into the training-capacity would be improved through a command (perhaps %getTraining) to track the available sxp pool for use with Trainers.
I've noticed that the trainer will only seem grant you the option to train *iff* the available training-capacity you have is sufficient to get the next rank when you first talk to them, and will offer subsequent training in a fixed quantity thereafter (or the minimum required to rank up, whichever is less). It therefore seems possible that the training option does not appear unless your training-capacity to reach the next rank n the skill, so you may wish to attempt to train skills that are close to ranking up and see if that changes anything.
It may also be the case that the rate of training-capacity generation may nee to be adjusted, in which case getting additional data seems prudent.

Over 9 days, I seem to have received roughly 2500 skill-XP / 270 BXP worth of training from trainers built up, so trainers are clearly working. If you are still having issues, kinzy , let me know, and I'll see what we can do to compare notes.
