This may be intentional and my memory of this battle may be wrong.
The last couple of times that I've recently run this boss:
You fight only Diver and the corpse piles don't do anything (you can still shoot and destroy the corpse piles, but they have no spawns). I seem to recall that these corpse piles would spawn deaders and until all deaders were gone, the Diver could not die.

Does it still run the effect that used to spawn deaders?

I don't believe so. Fight just starts with Diver melee and/or pull.
(But I don't recall the effect of old , just the deaders spawning endlessly until piles were destroyed.)

The deaders only spawn when the Diver charges them with a bolt of lightning. Likewise, the Diver only heals when he throws a different bolt of lightning at all active piles after a short delay, healing more for each pile intact.
If the piles were endlessly spawning, that would be another problem.
