Some results in testing the BI of the Flamethrower function.
*a recent test battle vs the Bandit Importer (Boss), which also uses a BL:
Jeptha Flanegan Thrown attack roll: 3 + 7 = 10 against DC 21, MISS! Thrown object deviates by 11 feet in a random direction.
Bandit Importer attacks Jeptha Flanegan : *hit* : (15 + 11 = 26).
Using BL, the Importer AB is +11, while mine is +7 (which is standard for my thrown) - eh, could be just miniboss bonus or a bug.

Anyways, Imho it seems the PC FT BI should get an AB boost.
End result is that to hit him I need roll of 14 in order to hit DC 21 for the area placement.
Now, even if I took the full demolitions line of Explosive Accuracy for +5 by skill level 95...this seems too high for the AB for the effect/commitment.
*However:
Consider if I was in the tier range of the area or even slightly higher (20 skill). AB bonuses would be +1 (Demo AB bonus) +1 (explosive Accuracy I). Getting into the numbers range of needing a 20 to hit an accurate placement of the effect. Not very practical - especially in party.

Clarified Edit:
Note that this is simply imho with the potential amount of commitment these hybrids need and the [meh] synergy they get from sinking into 3-4 demo lines. Even with the ability for elemental to ignore armor, the small boosts to mob AoE resists as mobs tier somewhat offset this. As does not having something else in either/both hands when simply throwing a grenade. And considering the amount of consumable (cost/weight) for similar damage.
I'm not a committed hybrid user, but I am testing with the idea of how it might compare if a PC was to indeed sink 20 feats into the various associated demo lines (damage, accuracy, gadgeteer, element type). Compared to sinking 20 into something else.
The primary hybrid effect should bump a fair bit with all of these. I'd suggest the secondary (2H) is really not worth considering for the most part.
Edit 2: In talking with Kitsunenotsume, who uses them a bit and thinks them to be about ok, ..eh, maybe I'm off point. If the user is happy, then could be ok.
