A thought I had after considering various complaints and difficulty of netting Lockpicking XP.
Currently, the Lockpicking(x) ability prevents Jamming on locks of Teir (x) or below. However, progress can still be difficult, as a lock even one rank above tier (say you have Lockpicking 3, and attempt a Rank 61 lock), has a fairly respectable chance of jamming on the first click, let-alone before completing all 16 corners. In effect, between a rank 60 and 61 lock, you go from 100% to perhaps a 5% success rate. (a generalization, I'm not sure of the math)
I would like to suggest that instead of affecting per Tier, that it prevents jamming on the first (x) tumblers, which would mean that the investment isn't mostly-worthless on locks above rank, and thereby provide a reasonable opportunity to net XP, while still having a failure chance for not having 'mastered' that tier of lock.
As per my understanding, locks seem to gain one tumbler per 20 ranks (each 'tier'), this would strengthen the ability, since it would have the same capability as the current implementation, while reducing failure on higher rank locks. This would obviously result in a higher probability of successful loot, while granting more lockpicking XP to those who have invested in lockpicking at all. If implimented, it might be worth increasing the Jam-chance of higher level locks to compensate.
Input from invested lock-pickers would be appreciated.

This would be nice. Though something else that would be very nice would be to limit the number of tumblers (or stop them from resetting so much).
Because of how each tumbler is locked behind the previous one, it gets exponentially longer to pick a lock for each added tumbler. Even 3-tumbler locks take a while. 4 tumbler-locks are just a giant slog. I can't imagine 5-tumbler locks...

I like the suggestion. Functionally the same as always if you've been on top of your picking skills, but it gives people some capability to get LP on difficult locks even if they've been slacking on their LP.
