I have noticed that there's a strong influence coming in from Shadowrun. Does that mean any slang used in Shadowrun would be acceptable? (As appropriate of course, no Cyberdecks, Cityspeak and the like...)
Also I'd be interested to know what your characters use often, it's fun seeing different ways of speaking.

Some things I use. 100% personal.
Drats! - Multi-use swear word, like people use fuck in english. Walk forward - Priorist parting well-wishes.

Not sure if its so much as influenced by Shadowrun as much as its influenced by the same genres that influenced Shadowrun.

I tried to give my character a kind of Docksy sound, a bit like cockney, not as indecipherable as some, but just enough to give him a bit of a drawl. It has however not been easy and a few people have misinterpreted what I wrote, and some stuff I just wrote wrong. A good accent is something that takes practice I think.

and then notice that you spelled something correctly and have to toss down a correction 'misspelled'

My first toon, I tried going with a born-deaf PC, but people were not ready for handsigns and body language, so I switched to Bardi. With him, I'm trying to give a sort of rough accent, but took a few peculiarities from Willy.
You/Your/You're = Yer
No/Don't = Nae/Dinnae
For = Fer
To = Ta
On a previous dwarf I made once, I used the following sentance structure: I am worried your plans might fail. => I do be worried your plans be failing.
For slang, I took a few terms from Shadowrun, as well as I was thinking of gunpowder so "blasted". A phrase Bardi likes saying is: "Blast me to smithereens, [...]".
I think these few quirks set him apart well enough, and give a sort of rough, streetlike feel to him.

I promised Sobriquet that I would post this handy-dandy guide to Élian (aka French) words, and so thus I hold that promise fulfilled! These are flavor words that Élia-based PCs can pepper into their RP vocabulary. The DMs have encouraged us to do so, so let's get to it! Informal: used when BSing with buddies. Formal: used when manners and/or distance is desired. Flavor Words for Élian PCs
Oui = Yes Non = No
Merci = Thank you (informal) Merci beaucoup = Thank you very much (formal)
De rien = You are welcome (informal) [Literally: It was nothing.] Je vous en prie = You are welcome (formal)
Bonjour = Hello / Good day (informal) Bonsoir = Good evening Au revoir = Goodbye
Bonne journée = Have a nice day [ALT + 130 = é] Bonne soirée = Have a nice evening
Monsieur = Mister Mademoiselle = Miss (young or unmarried female) Madame = Missus (older or married female) Messieurs = Gentlemen Mesdames = Ladies
Je m'excuse = Excuse me (informal) Excusez-moi = Excuse me (formal or to a plural audience)
S'il te plait = Please (informal) S'il vous plaît = Please [ALT + 140 = î] (formal)
C'est vrais = Indeed [Literally: It is true.]
Bien sûr = Of course [ALT + 150 = û] (formal) Mais oui = Of course (enthusiastic / aggressive)

Let's not forget the great quote pioneered by our lady Pink, Lil' Kim and C.Aguilera:
"Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" = Hi, James Crowe.

While I find it cool to use different languages, sometimes it might cause a bit of a misunderstanding. I know French so that's no problem, but if I ever made a Gnome, I'd probably keep my Chinese words in moderation. Then again, what you posted were some nice words that can spice up the conversation and easy to decipher even for others.

Agreed with Genbor, I'd probably keep it to one word expressions myself not to get too confusing for people who don't know french. Oui non and titles, mostly.

but if I ever made a Gnome, I'd probably keep my Chinese words in moderation. James' dialect is simply to use an extensive vocabulary of Jargon Technica. Gets the point across :-)
