A thread where combination effects from layering different spells might be suggested. These can be a single caster augmenting their own spells through unique interactions, or multiple casters layering spells to create new effects. (Grease - Fireball)
Noxious Gastropoda (Alterus)
Spells: Nauseating Cloud (Genesis III), Curse of Sluggishness (Affliction II)
The Nauseating Cloud takes on the properties of the curse of sluggishness when both are active.
Kit suggestion: Curse of sluggishness is applied to all enemies within the Aura, which basically means it only applies on hit.
Weakening Spikes (Alterus)
Spike Growth (Mutation II), Curse of Weakness (Proximal Affliction III)
With both spells active the curse of weakness is procced on being hit (with armor fully absorbing) instead of on hit.

I had an idea as Kaybrie was discussing it, that each of the base third tier spells could use a different alternate tree. This basically means you would get the most out of a tree by having at least one other tree in the same school. In most circumstances, these bonuses could also apply to later similar variants.
For example, Kinesis has a synergy between Kinetic Blow (T3 Impulsion) and force arms/hands (T2 Affect) The other Impulsion spell, Convection, could have a synergy with Animate Weapons (T2 Manipulation) to make either a burst or a Blade-Barrier effect is it makes a sort of storm of swords.
Bladewind Convection (T3 Impulsion) + Animate Weapons (T2 Manipulation) End Animate Weapons make either a burst or a Blade-Barrier effect
Fist of the Heavens (Or One-Punch) Fragmenting Fist (T3 Affect) + Force Slam (T2 Impulsion) Remove Fragmenting Fist to give Slam a KD attack with bonus armor break.
Eldritch Empowerment Energetic Armaments (T3 Affect) and Uplift (T2 Manipulation) Break weapons to either apply thematic damage-pulse around the ally on pickup, or grant them thematic weapon effects (as decided in dev) OR Energetic Armaments (T3 Affect) and Animate Weapons (T2 Manipulation) Grant summoned weapon buff to animated weapons, lose any existing summoned weapons. (seems like the cop-out though)
Meteoric Leap Leap (T3 Manipulation) + Force Slam (T2 impulsion) Superman jumping with a ground slam.
Kinetic Assault Unseen Hands (T3 Manipulation) + Force Weapons/Fists (T2 Affect) Apply thematic damage/Debuff by throwing your weapons

More ideas, Alterus this time:
Ambush Predator Primal Transformation (T3 Mutation) + Cloak of Shadows (T2 Conversion) Gain an extra option in Primal Transformation to boost Sneak Attack damage pool.
Eruptive Spines Stoneskin (T3 Conversion) + Spike Growth (T2 Mutation) When Stoneskin is cast while Spike Growth is active, release a radial blast of pellets and possibly ending Spike Growth.
Whispers in the Dark Curse of Whispers (T3 Affliction) + Darkvision (T2 Conversion) Curse of Whispers is applied to all [hidden targets]/[targets in darkness] in an area around the primary target. End Darkvision if any bonus targets are hit.
Gravemist Cloak of Fog (T3 Conversion) + Curse of Slugishness (T2 Affliction) On-hit curse applies bonus to flanking target and electrical vulnerability as they take on deader-like traits.
