At the current moment, the Spider Caverns seem extremely difficult yet the placeables / spiders don't exactly give any loot worth fighting for. The placeables are still lootable by only one person, though I don't think even fixing that would make it worth it monetarily. The brood spiders in particularly are extremely challenging to kill -- we had a party of four that had a spawn of two vampire spiders and a brood, which wiped three of us while I stealthed out. We'd gotten maybe half way through the caverns and collected maybe 30-50 bucks worth of loot from placeables. I can't comment on the boss spawn as I've never gotten there since the broods have been placed in. Maybe that makes it worth it, but it'd be nice if there's some monetary reward earlier on, and if maybe the brood spiders could be toned down a little bit / have some sort of weakness or way to deal with the acid AoE explosions.

The Brood Mothers move very slowly. If that helps, of course this is only an advantage if you can get them into a large cavern where you're not being endlessly webbed every other round by smaller spiders.

The spawns in the spider caves need to be looked at though thats for sure. 2 vampire spiders , a brood mother , 2 cave spiders and one 1 spine spider I believe was all in ONE spawn vs a party of 4. Correct me I'm wrong on that Claire.

Mixing suggestions and bug reports is not a good idea, please avoid doing it in the future.
Are you able to give any debug text that appears when the loot placeables aren't working?
Same question for the excessive spawn. Spider spawns including brood spiders shouldn't exceed party size ever.

Apologies for that PE. That being said I don't believe I recall any debug text no , but maybe the others can comment. It was me(Axel Ward) , Garren Night, Claire Monticeaux(spelling?) and uh...Garret? I think Garret?

Bumping this, as we ran through it again tonight. I'm focusing on this solely being suggestions, and created separate bug threads. Two topics I highlighted: DifficultyI think this is actually fine as is. The brood spiders are certainly tough, but they're a good challenge and fun to fight. The reality is though that you need to have a well balanced party of gunners and front line people. The latter are essentially there to kite the brood spider and occasionally tank when they're stuck in webs. They also can't really afford to be encumbered, so when the lootable bug is fixed, the brood spider might get a lot harder if people are lugging around a bunch of loot and walking around encumbered like they do in other dungeons. Guns really shine in this dungeon overall, as the spiders don't have much DR and the web thing lowers both melee AB and interrupts autoattack / abilities like a bitch. We had quite a few 100+ crits that came in handy, and they were a useful source of damage against the broodspider while our metal men ran in circles and tossed explosives. Reward
This is the huge problem. At the moment, only the Crypts/Graveyards and Cultists are regarded by most characters as worthwhile adventures, and the Spider Caverns as one of the worst. Obviously, this is tied to the lootable bug. I asked people how their share of loot was after the boss fight. A generous estimate would probably be 100~ bucks + the boss loot on average between six people. Even if one person were to have hit all the placeables like they could have if it was working, they'd have ended up with 600~ + boss stuff for a pretty dangerous dungeon. Maybe that's fine, but I know that the cultists generally pay better than that from my runs, though the Spider Cavern run might be 15-30 minutes shorter. That being said, the spiders are maybe the best source of XP I've seen on the server, but that might be in part due to running it with a small group of all high level people. That's also more of an issue with other places where difficult mobs like bombardier beetles or priests in the pilgrim camp of the cultists don't seem to give much / any XP. I'd write something on that, but I'm too tired at this point.

I got about $300 or so in that run. It was easy to calculate because I started dead broke.

On XP: When you work with groups of people all around your level and higher, you get good XP as stronger monsters spawn.
