Howdy folks, I'm working on expanding the number of available persistent placeable items that you can purchase from vendors and place in your player housing areas (currently, in the Rusty Pipe and Sink Hole). If anyone has any feedback on what other items they would like to see, please let me know. Please keep suggestions reasonable - these are things to be purchased for a player's small apartment at the moment, and not your fabulous castle of industrial manufacturing, mad alchemy experiments, burlesque shows, and creepy dungeon experiments. Please keep in mind that if the placeable doesn't already exist in the module it can't be made into a persistent piece of furniture either.Below is a list of general furniture/decor items that are created and being bug-tested right now, and several will have multiple color variations. Previously only rugs and tables were completed. Things marked with an asterisk will have multiple colors and/or styles. Armoire Bathtubs* Beds* Bench Bookcases* Candelabra Chairs* Keg Mirror (not a functioning appearance-changer, decoration only)Privy/Toilet Trunk

Here's some suggestions based on things I've added to rooms in the past:
nightstand sofa flowers (the different potted plant placeables) cups / glasses / plates armoire / cabinet armor rack ink well / parchments (unless they're already included on the desk item, then disregard) portraits sconces chandelier random décor items - statuettes, etc.

Scale models. Shrink down the building placeables (scaled to 0.05) and a new NPC that sells little models exclusively.

I thought about this one but for the time being, I'm going to hold off on putting in crafting stuff. Maybe in the future if/when players are able to buy a bigger space they can use as a workshop/storefront that they can craft in, I can help with that. As it stands now I don't think players can craft in their rooms because those rooms lack the necessary scripting that identifies them as crafting-acceptable rooms (like the craft hall). Now that the first batch of items have been sent to PE (with minimal problems the third time around *cough*), if everything works good I might tackle some of Foo's suggestions and other smaller decorative items. I'm not sure how easy it will be to place in-game things that are supposed to sit upon other items or be up in the air against walls but its worth a shot.

Well, maybe someone might be able to give some insight into an issue I've had with the room placables: Specifically, me findingmyslef outside of my room on login, after I've placed a furniture item sometime before logging out. Currently, if I have Carter go into his room, which is currently only only decorated with a rug, and then log out, when I log in the next day, I find him standing at the Beggar's Cross pathway entrance near the CCPD precinct. Much the same would happen when he had a room at the Rusty Pipe, with a couple tables placed, he'd wind up standing at the entrance of the sewers behind Lief's shop. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Any thoughts on what could be causing this? This sounds like a transition bug unrelated to persistent placeables; you're best off posting this in that part of the forum so it doesn't get missed as PE works on stuff. Whenever you enter a room, some area information will pop up in your combat log in yellow - it might be helpful to take a screenshot of that and include it too, in case it helps PE track down and squish your bug.

As an extreme animal lover in life, I'm doubly appreciative of the emotional value that small critters can provide a character. Perhaps small, static pet emplacements, of the variety that should not be lugged around a city where murder is common? A small round fish bowl that can be placed on desk or table. Likewise, a small birdcage, ala tweety bird. Perhaps even a small cat NPC, using the model previously available for mage familiars. Plop it down in the room to be interacted with there, but taken nowhere else?

At this moment I'm not aware of any placeables that look like a small fish bowl, bird cage, etc. Of course, if someone would like to make one and the staff decide to include it in the server's resources, I'd certainly be happy to put it in. I was seriously considering some household pets type placeables (because OMG kitty! <3), but I'm not certain at this point how I'd be able to get it to work properly. Getting it to be interactable is a whole other matter. Not to say that the concept is shelved, just that its on the backburner for the time being.
