I'm getting close to the point where I am going to have to choose between Emergency Care and Battlefield surgery for my Triage progression. I spent a good long time looking at them both, and I'm left wondering why anyone would elect Battlefield surgery. The chance to heal 5pts more damage on a Triage is a bit moot compared to being able to cancel a flat number of wounding/fire/acid damage points. The Emergency care just seems flat better, self use or team-use.
I'd like to suggest that to balance the two, Battlefield Surgery gains the ability to stabilize and restore to conciousness downed allies. This lets the field medic make a choice on if they'd rather carry a 20lb piece of equipment (Defib + spare batteries) and have the more potent branch of medicine; or be less potent but not need to carry the equipment with them to get allies back on their feet.
