I want to start by saying that lots of the events I've seen, and been involved in, have been great fun. That said, I wanted to take an opportunity to open a discussion of what I hope is helpful feedback.
A common theme I've noticed, is the dark tone of events. I don't believe, in all the run-ins I've had with NPCs, I've ever successfully managed to help a single one. Not one. I understand there is a degree of distrust of the C.C.P.D. and it's affiliates, and of strangers, but watching someone commit suicide rather than take the risk of maybe having a chance of something good happen to them, and constantly having nothing but grimdark happenings back to back, really make it difficult to want to play a C.C.P.D. affiliate. The real world is dark enough, from time to time it'd be nice to chalk up something that isn't even a win, but can at least pretend to be one. It really can be a source of burn out.
The other issue that has arisen, and this isn't meant to be a criticism, as much as voicing something that I've personally had trouble with - there is sometimes a... shortfall of feedback - whether in the time it takes to get such during an event, or in things falling off and not getting answered. I've DMed before, I know that there's a thousand balls in the air and only two hands. I know that everyone and their mother wants attention, needs help, or wants to shoot the shit. Still, sometimes it's hard to figure out what we're supposed to be doing, or what we are meant to do, or how to proceed, and efforts to get clarification sometimes fall short.
None of this is meant to be said as if you lot are doing a bad job - far from it. The NPCs are intriguing and interesting, the events curious and fun and lead to great mysteries and speculation.
This is just my personal feedback after having played for a while.
