Add a script that kicks characters looting chests out of stealth.

Reasoning behind this?

I'd rather have a hide roll applied to the action with flat DC's dependant on what dungeon the chest is in, as people in the room would likely notice you tumbling a lock and creaking open a chest to steal it's contents unless you performed it well.

The fact that they don't spot you or hear you means that you've successfully sneaked your way in and got stealthily the chest too.

The reasoning for this is that there is at least one PC possibly two that I know that does this regularly. They will stealth through the entire dungeon and just loot all the placeables and walk back out without fighting. On most servers this is a no no. I dunno about here.

There IS a chance of getting spotte.d I sneaked in looted and got spoted by a priest asking about lore question of his turd religion and got my ass handed to me when they all ganged up because i didn't know the answer. What does that take away from anyone, anyways?

Stealthing through a dungeon to loot the chests should be perfectly legal to do, although I agree that there should be a DC to open the chest without breaking stealth.
Why? Because you're not getting any loot from the enemies in the dungeon, you're not getting skill-ups except in Stealth, and there's a huge risk involved since you have nowhere to run if you get spotted in the middle of the dungeon.

They will stealth through the entire dungeon and just loot all the placeables and walk back out without fighting. On most servers this is a no no. I dunno about here. Most people are against stealth looting because they feel it adversely affects their gameplay. Dungeons are left devoid of items and folks who fight through to the end are left empty-handed. With EoA's system where everyone can loot chests, stealthing through places and looting chests doesn't take anything from anyone. A chance of loot is still available, and even the mobs will still be available for combat. Couple those facts with the knowledge that stealthing through places still has a risk, and I don't see the need for any new scripts or rules.

Staff first needs to come to a decision as to whether this kind of behavior (sneaking through a dungeon and looting containers without engaging any/most mobs) is against the server rules.
Personally, I don't see a reason why it should be. Sneaking through seems a valid exercise of the stealth skill. If you can make it through, good on you. Unlike some other servers, if those loot chests can be looted just once per character per reset of the dungeon, you're not stealing anything from anybody who fought their way through.
The only reason to add this in is to bloat the server with unnecessary scripts, take up PE's time, and burden players with another rule to follow. This place doesn't seem too keen on controlling our every minute in game (quite the opposite, really) so I see no reason to start now.

It's not against the rules, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be more difficult to pull off.

What PE said. There should be rolls to do it and they should get progressively harder the deeper you get in a dungeon.
