Wasn't talking about myself, was talking about Bruce as he is the player I am feeling to need to come to the defense of in this situation. Axel is not even in the top 5 for most advanced characters in terms of skills and what not.

It's not like you need to be skill level 100 anytime soon, anyway. What's the point? Take a break and smell the roses a little.
Or, in Calidor, I guess it'd be.... sweat? Cigar Smoke? Gunpowder residue? It probably smells thought, whatever it is.

There hasn't been much in terms of RP that has interested me thus far. I don't like mysteries or politics. Hoping the Museum nets Axel some interesting RP!

Personally feel like I was just labeled as one of those people who looks down on 'filthy casuals' just because of the amount of time I invest in the game. I'm trying to look at it objectively but I see no fault in the way I play. Truth is I do one or two dungeon runs a day, taking at times 9 people with me. The sheer size of the party makes EXP gain a certainty, and being a defensive focused tank at the front of the line nets me oodles of block/heavy armor EXP. No other class sees such giant strides in progression because no one else soaks/diverts 20 attacks a round.
A byproduct of this is the people that don't tag along with these massive groups don't get to group up with just about any of those people involved, as there's no incentive to return when you've reached caps on progression and there's no profit to be made to displace the cost of your consumables.

Geez, I just brought up the term filthy casual as a categorization for the type of people those people usually talk about, as in, people that only have a couple hours a day. Please reread closely, guys. I even said right up front it wasn't meant to be an insult... the insult I was worried about was me calling you an outlier that we wouldn't really focus on...
/me isn't sure how the filthy casual thing was taken personally.

Fuzz was simply saying that you can't really balance around the extreme ends of the playing population, unless the game was specifically catered to those people (see: Souls games), and I don't think Engines is doing that! There is, indeed, no fault in the way you play, nor in the more casual player's way, but part of designing games involves prioritising balancing content around the majority of the gaming population. I'm sure that eventually there will be something to challenge the players at the extreme ends to make it worthwhile, though, but it does take time. For the time being, try to see your position not as a waiting period until the ceiling lifts, but an opportunity to flesh out your character? Roleplaying is also a part of this server, and it wouldn't hurt to take this time to understand what kind of person Bruce is, what he likes to do, his various habits, and so forth. You will also get some bonus experience out of it! I'd say that's a win-win?

In rereading the post a few times I know it wasn't your intent, but to preface it with "Not trying to be a dick, take this objectively." Kinda pitches it towards the 'personal' direction =p, even unintentionally. I don't think you're a dick. P-E already chimmed in that there will be timers or something eventually. Think it's time for this thread to die.

When you say something like not trying to be a jerk at the beginning of your post Fuzz it makes people immediately think it's being used as a free pass to say whatever. I'm glad this wasn't the case

Fuzz does have an issue with.... mmm... phrasing I think, maybe tone? It often seems like he's being way meaner then he intends. Just got to remember, Fuzz usually doesn't mean what he's saying as bad as you're taking it .
