First Aid does not level up as a skill from the use of first-aid kits. At all. I've burned through five kits now on people with no skill gain.
First Aid Kits claim to be unlimited uses, but seem to be single-use items.
Triage also doesn't level First Aid if it is suppose to? If it isnt, shouldn't it?

Good catch. I'll figure out a way to add both of those in to tonight's patch.

So we had someone bleeding out.. and the first aid kit thought that they didn't need help? Seems that this is the exact moment someone would need help?

I'll need to find a way to clarify this ingame, but people don't bleed out in engines. You go down, and then either respawn outside with penalties if your party wipes or get up after the fight is over if party members are alive. When you're downed the only way to get picked up will be a defibrilator.

But it seems like you do bleed out... you hit the ground and then start taking 1 dmg at a time slowly ticking down towards -10 when it finally actually kills you. At least thats what I saw.

Yeah that's just what nwn2 does when you drop. I've got code that runs on top of that to do the party stuff. Could be running wonky for large parties though.

I'm still trying to figure out what these first aid kits ACTUALLY do. They don't heal back any of your unrecoverable health, haven't tried using one in combat but it doesn't seem like they are meant for in combat heals.

They seem to work after-combat, to give someone recovery-points back. They also mitigate some cumulative damage.. which in my case I think is only because of the abilities I took.

They don't do anything when I use them. out of combat or in. They don't recover anymore HP. It just says this target doesn't need assistance.

First aid kits are only post-combat for extra recovery. They can affect a fixed portion of total damage taken (which increases with the first aid skill) so multiple applications doesn't help.
Triage does the same thing for free and also allows a small amount of in-combat regeneration (never exceeding the amount they'd be able to get back out of combat).
They work on different values so you can double up if you have someone with both.

After encountering the Vampire Spider spawn in the Spider Caves, they're the first spawn to give me the bleed effect. First Aid kits, Triage and healing potions wouldn't stop the bleeding, but drinking a recovery potion did.
Are they supposed to help with bleed damage?

If that's what first aid kits are supposed to do then they don't work for Axel at all. Granted his first aid is a 0 but I figure I gotta use first aid kits to raise it right?

I've actually been practicing with triage, and it seems to have a limitation that is not well explained. In combat, it does the 1-5 +1 for every 10 first aid ranks, but out of combat if you try to use it after having used it in combat, it will tell you that your target needs no assistance, even if you have some unforgiven damage that won't regenerate. The only time I was able to use it to remove permanent damage, was after not using it in combat, then afterwards using it to heal 12 permanent damage, to which my natural healing took care of. I haven't fiddled with first aid kits yet, because I haven't needed them, so I can't comment on them, but Triage has been giving me a little XP every use that it actually does something. My first aid is at 1 now, after a good 4 hours of play, using it as much as possible, so perhaps first aid might need some work as far as experience gain towards skill ups.
