Every year the collective educational institutes release up to date journals, to ensure that contemporary advancements are recorded and used for the betterment of all, by all branches of technological or philosophical study.
As per tradition, an area of these journals is for open publication by individuals who do not have employment within the institutes. An authors cred in these journals can do much to advance the careers of individuals who make the effort, and ensure a position as speaker at an academic conference where the best in the field will be in attendance. As such, these articles are hotly contested.
With that said, let the academic equivalent of a street war begin.
((Publishing Season is on us. If you want to make a splash in the Educational Factions this is a great way to go about it. The process works like this:
Write a claim - PM me in a single sentence what you believe to be true, and how exactly you intend to show this. Example: Dennet thinks consciousness is an illusion, this is proven by the dead acting like humans. He intends to go to the graveyard and try and get the Dead to learn simple tasks.
Perform Experiment (Optional)- You then get one small event in the future where you must figure out a way to test your claim, this could be at little as setting up a meeting with a professor and having an argument, or as large as testing new explosives in Calidor. Example: Dennet sets out to teach dead simple tasks, like making a cup of tea.
Write Thesis based on experiment - Write a three hundred word (+) document and send it me in a PM, remember to state the claim, state how you set out to prove it. And your results, you can lie. Example: Dennet failed to teach the dead how to make tea, but did survive the encounter. He writes about how over the course of three hours dead he'd chained up were taught through repetition to stir a teaspoon in a cup. None of that happened.
Wait.
If successful, you will be invited to speak at an open conference on your claim.
This will going on for several weeks if not a couple months, you may be waiting some time for your experiment, but the conference will not happen until all claims have been given chance to perform an experiment. The acceptance of new claims could end earlier if it has been a few weeks and there are many applications to get through, if application does close I'll post here.
Finally, be careful about what you want to claim, lots of large questions will be un-testable or come back inconclusive 100% of the time. This in no way means you can't write about it (Lie, explain why a false result in interesting, so on) but it does mean if you expect a DM to provide insight into say; the Name of God, don't get your hopes up))
