This thread is for people to put down idea's for things that players would like to see in game that are not to do with skill advancement/loot. In spite of pushes for dungeons, grinding inevitably stops, at some point players will have their maxed out builds and there will be no more advancement to be had. I feel like a number of roleplayers have already side-lined themselves waiting for more area's that let them tell a story to be implemented.
Some idea's I've had;
Bring back gambling. While at the beginning people were making a great deal of money off of gambling that wasn't available otherwise, I feel like it's about time that gambling was given some value again, even if it is a safe way to make consistent money (If you're good at it), it was nice to see groups of players in the Sink Hole gathered around the table, chatting and playing cards. Expanding on this even and putting some work into the casino would be great.
Downtown. Downtown especially has opportunity for some interesting RP area's given that it's supposed to generally be a little bit more of a wealthier area, bath houses, theaters, nice bars (Not dissing the Sink Hole, but..) These sorts of area's create roleplay without the need for any complex scripts like gambling and the like, their mere existence becomes a great tool for roleplayers to make use of.
Arena. This one could count as something of a low-risk mini-dungeon, that's more like the boss battles in that you're trying to beat higher and higher level progressive tiers of enemies to get greater rewards, titles, positions on a leader board, etc.
Sports. This would be a step forward from the arena, and more like a spit-balling pipe dream then a serious request to PE. But something like soccer or football would be cool, having a unique set of abilities, like sprint, take ball, etc... could still draw on the D20 system to advance a ball across the field with the intention of scoring. It's something I've never seen on an NWN2 server, and it would take a lot of work, but... I feel with 3 person teams this could be an interesting and fun competitive mode of play that doesn't fixate on PvP. Maybe an idea for after progression through to 100 has been completed.
I'd welcome anyone to join in voicing their own suggestions on these sorts of activities for players to enjoy outside of dungeon crawling.
