Dear sir or madame,
Recently it has come to light that the gnomish machines employed in the docks district of Calidor are a hazard to the general public. There are stories of these contraptions malfunctioning, or even exploding, causing harm and costing lives to the hard working folk of the city. Today, I witnessed these machines cause people to riot in protest, and it had an unpleasant outcome for all parties involved. As representatives of technology and the very future itself, I urge you to subject these machines to a proper inspection, and correction!
It is imperative that the problem these machines present be remedied. Already there are cries to have the machines be removed entirely from service. I say this is an affront on progress itself. By correcting the mistakes made by these gnomish engineers, you save the integrity of technology as a whole, and increase public acceptance of it. I am sure you realize that in order to make not only further advancement, but profit from such works, the trust and approval of the general public is needed.
Esteemed men and women of the Institute, I implore you; correct this cheaply made insult to science at once!
I am in the process of researching these machines further in an attempt to discern exactly what their faults are, but have found my success limited due to obstructive regulations and rules. I expect the authority of the Institute is enough to bypass this. I will supply a more detailed report upon further study of the instruction manual for these machines, which is quite thick.
