Server's been empty now.. especially during the day. Where is everyone? Up until a couple weeks ago we had a nice immersive and engaging variety of people signed in any hour of the day.

I've been on vacation and will soon be slammed by work for the next 2 months, so my DMing time will be minimal at best, though I've notified most of my ongoing plot people of this already. Damn RL!

Summer is over and people are going back to school/work! I'm still around but at inconvenient hours, assuming I'm not caught up with other things first.

For the most part I try to both play and DM but mostly I can only make some evenings during the week and some weekend days. Populations do tend to fluctuate and there is a group of players that are normally on for a decent amount everyday. Basically just saying yes I'm still here and so are some players, hopefully we get more soon.

Burnt out, hit that point where me logging in on Hanners was me going to a dungeon, avoiding everyone then logging out without a word of RP.
So I'm taking a break.

I've been burnt as well. The hours I keep mean that I basically stand around in the market, or run a dungeon that kicks my ass but doesn't give xp.

I'm on the same schedule as ever: work all day, do stuff on weekends, so can only play in evenings when schedule allows.

Got kind of bored of the mechanics (Everyone except tanks are vague, easily replaceable DPS who mostly do and contribute the same thing) and the RP and DM styles weren't doing it for me. I still keep an eye on the place and the dev log, though. Considering coming back once beta is done and most/all changes are reasonably final because until then I'm way too far behind ye curve to consider it. No soloing the crypts for three/five days isn't fun.
NWN PWs and 'betas' thereof being what they are though, who knows. I do give props to PE for being very actively making things/tuning things.

Work is still silly busy for me, (some of you know why) and I've got all these extra research and academic projects going on for the next couple months (it's conference season) but I have not forgotten the handful of open plotlines! And I've had some time for the grates to turn and give me swanky new ideas.
Stay tuned!

School and a general lack of interest in NWN2.
NWN2 is... getting more and more played out sadly.

I'll be running a large plotline starting next week, for multiple times a week. I'll put up a post with details for those who are interested sometime soon.

since we're talking about players waning out I thought I should weigh in. What draws me away from most servers is my first impression of the first city I see. Tightly placed buildings which force me to go to top down view. Way too much detail, yeah I get it but all that pretty flashy drek is still in my camera's way. Too many way points, load screens is typically not a problem for me; but doing to much of that is still kind of dull even though its obvious someone went through a lot to build this city map. Don't get me wrong I really like what the dev team has done to break away from the typical style every server left standing is using. This is referring to using thee and thous. a good starting city to go off of was Realm of Darkness' Mantol-Derith, at least to me. the way points were placed at the edge and the buildings were certainly not in the way of my camera.

I've always felt that a lack of DM involvement produces stagnation. During the summer it was great! All kinds of DM things going on. But now everyone has gone back to school or work and there's a lot less. Granted my hours are limited as I go to bed earlier than most of you I think, so it's partly my fault.
But uh... yeah. As a guy who does a lot of paper-and-pencil, DM stuff is what does it for me. Grinding sucks. And I think my PCs already know everyone.

People play NWN in camera views other than top down? *shudders* you can't see everything around you then!
