Last week my work load went from nothing to everything over night, this was fine, took a night off of DMing got work done. Then more work appeared the next day, and repeat. The way this came about, meant at no point did I feel I would be gone for more then two days until those two days had passed. Sorry. I feel I left things in a way where there was lots to be done but it wasn't necessarily time sensitive, this kind of sucks but I'm hoping it wasn't to much of a encumbrance on players.
I'm hoping to be back DMing a lot either Friday or the Weekend Proper, if you have a PC involved who has plans that weren't enacted it would be incredibly helpful for me if you boiled down your plans going forward into a PM, this would make DMing a lot smoother and let me get things moving again.
As a side point, I'm going to jot here a very very brief bit of insight into the plot so far, this is the stuff any citizen of Calindor would be aware of just by living in the city. If you aren't currently involved in any on going stories around the Docks situation but feel that your PC would care or have a stake in the on - goings please do PM also and I'll happily chat with you about getting characters involved.
Story so far:
A few weeks back the legislative authority signed off on the use of Gnome created machines for laboring, this was problematic as the Dwarves had a monopoly on this before hand and their jobs are at risk. Further, many suggested this machines were in fact poorly made and dangerous to any user.
Then, strike action was taken in the Docks by Human and Dwarf workers, blocking the travel of the machines to the Dockyards. This ended in a violent clash between Protesters and police.
The next few weeks involved a checkpoint being created at the Docks entrance from the trade district, several attacks were made on the CCPD's checkpoint and multiple officers lost their lives.
The end result of all this, is the docks are policed even less then usual apart from at the checkpoint and the district itself has been in an uneasy state of peace punctuated by moments of violence whenever the Citizens of militant means feel the need to take arms against the Cops. This continues to this day.
Finally, rumors are circulating about the Elven population of the Docks being attacked by Dwarven protesters also. This has resulted in further rumors that the elves are in fact becoming militant.
If any of this seems like something you'd like to take part in, or just see if you would like to learn more. Do PM me.
Cheers and see you at the weekend.
