Zero, returning from a trip with the Doc and Frazer soon found herself distracted by footprints she saw on the open Market. Curious in nature, she followed it to the strange ritual site. As her nature, she took all that she could there. Returning to the two, she hands Emmanuel the Egg so he can use his alchemical skills to discern it as well as show him the clues. They then return to take a glance at the ritual site she had recovered all the items from.

Emmanuel proceeds to inspect the objects - being familiar with the ritual murder of a child with a silver blade, he's immediately alert to "occult" meanings, and begins to investigate the nature of the blade, any markings to indicate make or maker, and the egg, to determine just what kind of egg it might have been, and whether anything odd is to be found.

"Dear Mister Carbo,
I write to you on a pressing matter I have discovered today when strolling through the city. Following tracks of small footprints covered in what I could guess was oil, I found myself at some strange ritual place. There I found various items that I will hand to you personally. I have given a certain egg which I recovered there to Emmanuel so he could do further research upon it. The Gramophone I extended to a competent man named James Frazer for restoration of anything auditory. When you have time I would like to meet with you personally. I have a strong feeling it is about the Eleanor and a clear indication to what may be going on there.
Your loyal employee, Zero"

At the site, James peers over the chalk, examining it studiously with his magnifying monocle, and sketches the pattern down in a notebook. After a time, he proceeds to accept the gramophone, checking the damage for a probable cause of destruction, and checking the particulars of the internal mechanisms and recording drum. Taking it in the satchel it had been offered in, the mechanist follows after the others, intent to record and restore what he can of the destroyed instrument and its auditory cargo.
