Char: James Frazer (Solo)
Combat Rating: 35
Armor: Heavy - Partial Plate (S 29/ I 30)
Weapons: 2-H - Greathammer (S 29 / I 30) & Demolitions (S 35)
Detect: 27
For a low-tier dungeon, this one started out pretty well. I think James is too high to be getting any XP from it, but it was a reasonable slog through the first few rooms. The loot was minor but appreciable, and the Stag beetles normal burrow mechanic provided a beneficial respite when my HP was getting low (which it did at times), providing a moment to regen and quaff a potion. Stag beetles were spawning roughly one per room, and one lootable per room. I wasn't using demolitions, since it didn't seem required. Got about 4 sspawns of stag beetles, which took a bit, before using a couple bandages and a restoration potion and heading through the first archway.
Next spawn was a Bombardier Beetle. It seemed to use acid breath once every 3 rounds, and bite the other two. I managed to match damage briefly by using my Igniter gauntlets, but was shortly forced to consume potions to remain standing. This did not last long, as the acid-damage buildup was superior to my potions.
I would like to suggest that the ability of Bombardier beetles to spawn acid-breath be reduced, either by increasing the cooldown of the ability or by limiting the number of uses per encounter (I counted 6 uses of Creature Ability in my combat log). The ability itself seems fine currently, but getting constant armor-ignoring damage with no current means of mitigation in what is a relatively low-level dungeon seems a bit of a stopper.
