Is there a sense of how close the official launch is? Is it likely to drop over the next month or two, or is it probably further off than that?

I too would like to know! I wait patiently, but having looked around a bit now and then lately, I am excited about some of what I have seen, and much of what I yet haven't. Not suggesting to rush things, though!

Estimating an actual date is pretty difficult because there's uncertainty in both the amount of time required to make the rest of the content and how much time I'll have to do it. Basically there's three things on the list and they all need to be at a point where the rest of the work is quantifiable enough for me to commit to a date where it's finished.
- Game engine stuff needs to all have been added so that the only thing left to do is balancing and tweaking. - Still need a couple dungeons so that full 1-100 levelling is supported for all party sizes. - There are a bunch of misc. projects like ambient NPCs, weather, ingame lore, and city interiors that are way better to have on day one than some time after launch.
Guessing I'll have the uncertain work done in a few weeks. Picking a date at least before the end of July is almost a sure thing.

Thanks for the update, looking forward to seeing the finished product. It's really impressive to see a server that was built almost entirely by one person, let alone one as customized as EoA is.
