If it's supposed to be, it's not. I've had other people catch up to me in the tutorial after I was in the sewers.

Would love shield customization. Still using Sir Helen's shield so I look pretty.

Regular server resets, like every 6 hours or so? I think that might help with the lag and instability issues.

If it's supposed to be, it's not. I've had other people catch up to me in the tutorial after I was in the sewers. I think there is a different definition of 'instanced' here. I think sareth675 is talking about actual separate maps for each group, while Fuzz is talking about quest and trigger progression. Both are valid uses, but for one it means that each group will never* encounter another group in an area, while the other means that each group only needs one spokesman to run through cut-scenes and progress quests. Hopefully I interpreted both sides correctly. Please don't shoot me if I didn't. *Would require having multiple identically formed areas, and load-balance players between each. More than a few would quickly become a burden for the server, and even then, with the number of scripts running in each area it might slow stuff down considerably. but I dont know the full limitations of server-side area caps.

Apparently from the sewers onward it's not instanced, actually, excluding the worm fight.

I don't think the wurm fight is instanced either, I heard from a new player that they followed someone into it that they had not partied up with, but they were both on the same stage of the quest. Ended up in the same place, not two seperate areas to fight the wurm with 2 different Helens, will have to confirm and will edit here when I get an answer ^^
And you got it right Kitsune, however on the load issue, I feel that having 12 players triggering spawns puts more of a load on the server, with the spawns all coming at once in quite large amounts, whereas smaller groups triggering smaller spawns should cause less load. I do understand that multiple map instances might be a problem with the amount of strain it puts on the server, but I can't claim to have an answer since I know nothing about server maintenance for NWN2 xD I just know on other servers it helps with crowding, (which mind you, could also be fixed with more areas, which I know are being worked on!) It's just crowding could be fixed in the short term by just having 2-3 instances available for each dungeon area.
EDIT: Confirmed, player says they went into the area and met the player without having partied up with them, this caused them to have to exit the area, redo the fight, but when they left the door, they spawned back at the grenade crate much earlier on in the tutorial area. Weird huh?
EDIT 2: Turns out the Spider Boss is instanced! Hooray! Can't that just be the same thing for every area...?

Whenever I gain a rank in crafting, I always look through every item I have trying to figure out if I got any improvements that rank or not. ne suggestion I would like to make is to list (possibly in combat log or something) what upgrades got unlocked somehow. Just a thought

I'll start it off by saying a character description editor would be a good addition. Would like this, I usual leave mine blank on creation and write later.

Be great to see an expanded skin tone palette for humans into non European tones.

Be great to see an expanded skin tone palette for humans into non European tones. Unfortunately, a lot of the custom heads intentionally don't support darker skin tones because the guy that made them was a huge racist. Not much we can do about it unless someone knows how to tweak all the texturemaps.

Unfortunately, a lot of the custom heads intentionally don't support darker skin tones because the guy that made them was a huge racist. Not much we can do about it unless someone knows how to tweak all the texturemaps. I could take a look. I'd be curious to see how he did that. I suppose he could have just made the tint maps very pale, so that any tint you put in is only going to have a minimal darkening effect. If that's the case, it should be a fairly easy fix. Which are some of the problem heads? EDIT: Yeah, that's actually -exactly- what he's done. There's six different tint maps that all have the skin tone one really faded out. I'll fix 'em real quick.

Okay! I went ahead and did what I could. This before and after shows the old and new tint map with the darkest skin tone currently available on Engines. It helps a little, but the palette really does need to go darker if we want to approach African skin tones at all. That one's on Engines, not racist tintmap guy. I also just want to point out that he had actually done something somewhat clever. He used the alpha channel to apply the tint map in different degrees to different parts of the face. The skin around the eyes and beneath facial hair was actually taking the full tint, while other parts of the face weren't. Whatever his intentions were, it -is- a trade off between getting that kind of variable application and having the darker tones work. Here's an archive with the updated texture files!

We should probably try updating our UNC first so that existing characters don't instantly change. Just need to find someone willing to decipher that 2da.

We should probably try updating our UNC first so that existing characters don't instantly change. Just need to find someone willing to decipher that 2da. The PC Color Palette Editor is an easy way to do this. I threw the one below together in a few minutes. It has a little more variety than what the server currently has, but could certainly stand to be improved upon.
